Not going to take long, folks. We will all know by the end of the upcoming game against the Patriots whether or not Tua Togovailoa, and possibly Mike McDaniel will survive into October.

How many of these cycles can a Dolphins fan take? I used to scoff back when Tom would say that many of us contemporaries might never see a competitive Dolphins team again. Damn looks prophetic!
buffalo gonna run all overr the dolphins, and a tampa win over NE puts the bills right bacon top of the division. am soiled that USC is bad-cannot believe that in all these years lincoln riley has not found a DC that can stop the opposition.
How many saw this outcome? Buffalo looked like every team throughout history who thought all that was needed for a win was just to show up. The Dolphins may be headed to yet another .500 season.
No, but he is a bad in game coach. He lost them a playoff game against SF a few years ago. O-5 on fouth down last game that was a one score game mostly.
if the nexperts are right, UM will need a lot of help to make the ACC title game. they have UVa as almost a ten point favorite over the hokies, and a cavalier win and UM is out. that is also in consideration is that pitt is not bad, and a canes win is not a surety. rwmember when UM went up there ranked #2 and pitt and james conner ran over them. will be an interesting saturday, which i will miss most of the games except the battle of the virginias. Vatech has manhandled their intra-state rivals over the years, and i can't understand such a huge spread for that game.
Big Baby my comments are staying up, but i am surprised that there are so few from others. geez, UM is good and they could be bounced out of the CFP!!! their #10 is an amazing player
Yes, guys. I agree with the impression that this site is a bit wonky. Beggars can’t be choosy, I guess. I will experiment a bit and pass anything worthwhile that I discover. I will also try to get Mr. Woodcock to make an occasional appearance.
BB, on your suggestion that McDaniel is going to keep his job based on their recent winning streak…well…Ross may keep him into next year for financial reasons (only coach that would want to work with Tua), not jettison Tua and absorb his contract. I see this more likely, in spite of what looks likely - Dolphins loosing their last four games!!!!!
Mike has done a tremendous job that team plays their ass off for him. Adjusting to running and playing defense has worked. If they can avoid a slow start again next year they might be ok. Tua has been way off this year but I cant give up yet.
I suspect lots will change after Monday night. Anything is possible, as they say, BUT…beating the Steelers, in Pittsburgh, in freezing weather, and with the Steelers -themselves- needing to stay in control to go into the playoffs. I don’t know. It portends to be ugly.
The Richie Incognito “types,” who never bought into a soy boy as a head coach (of all things), have been coming out of the woodwork as of late. They’ve temporarily holding back criticism (see our own shadow), but, one more ugly outcome and this team is headed home for the holidays.
The negative noise they’ll make will seal McDaniel’s fate. I don’t think that even Ross’ desire for economic sense will be enough to save him.
the catch that was nullified that gave the steelers the ravens game is just another example of how bad the officiating is/has become in the NFL, supposed to be in the 20s monday night but me thinks the dolphins will win. should the locals make the playoffs would be unbelievable. have a great weekend.
two "run bombs" for the patiriots, and they still lose- a rarity.josh allen is the best QB in the league, as buffalo churned for all their scores while NE got two TDs on two plays. great comeback demo down 0-21.
remember the days of "tank for tua"? looks like the dolphins have finally given up von him. never ever was a fan of the little brittle one. one improvised throw to win the national championship-one necessitated by his slow thinking and getting sacked by georgia- and that was the high point of his career.and he is getting almost $60 million for the up coming season!!! the frenzy to draft him was absurd and sodas his career in the NFL been,
Glad they are starting Quinn Ewers. Dolphins are tied to Tua for at least one more year. He will be competing to play next year and could potentially be a backup.
a&m had a QB who can't throw, carson beck is no great shakes either. the ole shadow says the four winners of the "real"bowl games will be texas tech, ohio state, alabama and georgia.
Agree 100%, BB. No need to pursue another QB in the draft, or through free agency.
I also like the temp GM they currently have. I saw a clip of him congratulating players coming off the field which translates positively to team unity.
USC. for taking the long-storied rivalry off the schedule, deserves to lose every game they play. GO TCU!!! replacing Catholics with mormons because they don't want to kill their CFP chances with a year end loss. chickenshirt!!!!
bogus sack record eclipsed!!!! if you will remember, brett's favre waited until michel strahan got into the backfield and then proceeded to lie wown, whichn gave strahan a sack. deacon jones used to garner 10ma game at times in his heyday with the rams. too bad they weren't keeping records of sacks (a term the deacon originated) in the 60s.
For those of us keeping score, the Dolphins ended their season yesterday with a record of seven wins and ten losses (7-10).
The closest prediction was registered by both FZB and Mr. Woodcock with the record of 8-9.
Congratulations, to the two of you. You guys win our “Closest to the Tank” award, which grants you unlimited “I told you so’s” throughout the summer. Enjoy!

Just released list of planned GM interviews. Note not a single name of a candidate from the AFC:
The Dolphins, whose season ended Sunday with a loss at New England, have requested permission to interview the following candidates:
Philadelphia Eagles assistant GM Alex Halaby. San Francisco 49ers VP of Player Personnel Tariq Ahmad. San Francisco 49ers director of scouting and football operations Josh Williams. San Francisco 49ers assistant GM RJ Gillen. Green Bay Packers VP of Player Personnel Jon-Eric Sullivan. Los Angeles Rams assistant GM John McKay.
BB, looking over the list of names of GM candidates for interview, it seems highly suggestive that Ross wants someone from the 49er camp. Someone friendly and familiar to McDaniel.
Dude ain’t getting fired, unless the team drops first four games into next year.
No break in sight. Next year’s schedule includes the four inter-division games with Buffalo and NE + games with 49rs, Denver, Green Bay, Chargers, Chicago and Detroit. Thats TEN games against SB- caliber teams!!!!! Oh, and not to mention games against teams not necessarily shabby - Vikings, Bengals, Chiefs. THIRTEEN TOUGH GAMES!!!!!
Colts, Raiders. Also away games, along with the two against against the Jets. Wow!!! Looks like only three of 14 games where they get an automatic underdog tag!
fired because his kicker missed from 47, or because he an lamar jackson aren't a fit? you guys tell me. like ole miss, but don''t think they can handle UM's DL.
five turnovers spelled doom for the bills. the last one where there the DB wrestled the ball away was the game. had the bills caight the ball they would've been in FG range. too bad-am now pulling for the bears in what should be arctic weather. miami+ points looks good to me.
A) the bills got shafted on that call of INT in OT B) i think the chargers/bengals AFC title game, with wind chill accounted for, was the coldest game in NFL history.
didn't the broncos get the weather report that said second half blizzard? george allen,OBM,saidv always take the points, which denver failed todo. would have made for a different outcome.
No question about it, shadow. To these eyes, that game was decided by the team that had the better running QB. Would have been a different result with a healthy Bo.
Will be enjoying this Super Bowl game as a football fan. Do not have any reason to root for either, especially NE. I do think that Seattle has a tremendous defense.
Having said that, I remember that SB game some years back between the Rams and NE. The Rams only had to show up - so they said. “The Greatest Show on Turf” was supposed to be so deciding! Well, Brady did his thing with a minute and change left, and Belichick installed a physical style of play and Kurt Warner and company could not answer.
OC Dolphin the greatest show on turf featured, among others, my fave marshall faulk. the next year the rams didn't run my man and lost again. dick vermeil had an incredible offense those years but failing to run MF in the rematch cost his year the game. i am with you on sezttle-justtoo strong for NE.
Big Baby unreal game last night. duke couldn't find any points at game's end-same as last year's final four- and lost. they will stomp UNC in the season finale but i am enjoying the moment now. how colt is it where you are?
Its been a cold and snowy winter shadow. I guess some of the UNC Fandom was not so kind after storming the court. Tried to beat up some of the Duke coaches. Dont look now but Dam dsrnold is a Superbowl champion. Finally a relevant USC qb out many past failures.
Mild prediction: That lopsided Seattle domination is going to translate to a run on defensive players In the draft. After Mendoza and two or three “can’t miss” type Offensive linemen look to see a predominance of defensive selections.

Curling has got to be one - if not - the most ridiculous of Olympic sports. I’m surprised winners are not comprised of oldsters such of ourselves, who are well practiced after spending hours every day on the shuffle courts of our retirement homes.
tthe USAwon the game. however, they were outshot/outplayed and would have lost if nootforthe incredible goal tend of hucklebuck. stopped 41/42 shots-unreal at any level.
Hi, BB. Looks like a much different rebuild this go around. I know you’ve consistently claimed that current football is a “passing game.” Well, we will see. This current administration and coaching is clearly preferring old school basics. Big dudes at every position over small and fast. Very much what has been emblematic of the GB conference. Should be interesting. I personally don’t see them losing every game this coming season (as so many pundits seem to think).

Oc, they need to draft a wr with the first pick. I know they wont but right now they might have the worst wr room in the league. I think the current gm mentality is we can find a wr in later rounds. There are a lot of stud wr's that may not be available with Denvers puck late first.
I have a feeling they will not pick a WR until their fourth pick. They do have seven picks under 100, so which ever player they select is bound to be a top six receiver.

Hello?
Especially your “Ns”
The Fins are a 4.5 point underdog. Either by beating the spread or not, this appears headed to another loss. Oh boy:-(
Just finished watching the Broncos at Jets…wow how the Jets suck!!!
I Guess no one has come o er to the new blog. Sad.

Hi, BB. As you’ve no doubt learned, Grier has been released. First of many, I’m sure.
wel, i am back..glad to see the citizens have also returned..thanks OC.
UM has a 2% chance of making the CFP; weren't they just ranked #2 in the land. told you guys that i don't think carson beck is much and he isn't.

two huge fumbles and an end zone INT were the bills' undoing. letting ache run wild didn't help either
Shadow
It was great to see Josh get squashed. I am encouraged that despite their record this Miami roster has potential.
the bills were al banged up, but they lost the game on TOs. drake maye is proving to be the real thing.
tredskins are all banged up- dolphins in a rout in the home of real madrid (boo)
Close game between two evenly capable teams. McDaniel nearly gave the game away.
horrible INT gave miami the game.achane is amazing; how did he go so low in the draft?
ALL GREAT GAMES TODAY!!!!
Happiest 4-7 team ever. Still trying to win.
horrible throw by marcus mariota gave the dolphins a win.
Dan Campblell is terrible. A complete moron.

didn't he pass up a FG against NE that cost atlanta that SB?
No, but he is a bad in game coach. He lost them a playoff game against SF a few years ago. O-5 on fouth down last game that was a one score game mostly.
Goff passed unsuccessfully all night and they have a stud rb in Gibbs.
UM needs a lot of help to get into the ACC title game, it seems.
GT had their chance, but they folded early. going to make it 28-21, and give ups 100 yard INT return, boo hoo

miami in a rout their way!! play at home next game!!
aside from the 73 yard jaunt, ole miss couldn't run the ball. miami dominated the game more than the score reflects.
New era for the Dolphins…yet again.
bills can't stop the run.they won't win again despite having the incredible josh allen.
UM +8.5 seems okay to me, but as we know i don't bet.
five turnovers spelled doom for the bills. the last one where there the DB wrestled the ball away was the game. had the bills caight the ball they would've been in FG range. too bad-am now pulling for the bears in what should be arctic weather. miami+ points looks good to me.
darn old sam finally looking like the QB the was in college. playing QB for the jets is doom magnified!!!
texans, especially on defense, looking pretty tough of late.
A) the bills got shafted on that call of INT in OT B) i think the chargers/bengals AFC title game, with wind chill accounted for, was the coldest game in NFL history.
football should be played outdoors.
Looks like we’ve got the Green Bay Dolphins.
Looks like we’ve got the Green Bay Dolphins.
Awaiting kickoff for tonight’s championship game. Frankly, I don’t see how The Canes can stop all the Indiana offense.
Another coaching era for Miami. Rinse. Repeat.
Big Baby,
only the jets will kep the dolphins from the bottom of the division.
